I wish I understood why everything has to be be "hardcore", pigeonholed into one field. Why do some scientists consider other fields of knowledge and inquiry to be inferior. Liberal arts today gives science plenty of due recognition, but I cannot say the same for science. Any ideas?

In an attempt to   understand more why some people think that way, I put up a survey in this site. Take the survey to help me. I will hopefully have the results by mid-July. Since the response has been minimal, I will post every response with people's opinions.
